WE’RE (ALMOST) THERE !
On 5 October, we launched an ambitious crowdfunding initiative hoping to collect … 30.000 € for our Fuel for Schools initiative, which we operate in partnership with the International Foundation for Greece.
Today – 9 December – we are at … 28.883 €, which represents almost three times as much as the previous editions of 12 Hours for Greece !! 28.883 € represents … heating for 29 schools and … 6.000 children, thanks to YOUR generosity ! So ….
Thanks to all of you who joined us this year at our two concerts (Liège and Brussels) !
Thanks to all our individual donators !
Thanks to the Walloon Region, the Brussels-Capital Region, the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, Afyliatis, the Schuman Trophy, The association «Femmes d’Europe», Intrasoft, Teletrans, and all the others who supported us !
A special thanks to the municipality of Ixelles who was the first to support two schools, and who will soon be followed by the municipality of Anderlecht (and, we hope, many more) !
A special thanks also to the Athénée of Welkenraedt who collected 1.020 € by selling virtual fuel tickets, and will now be able to heat a school in Xanthi !
Many thanks to all our artists, Alexandra Gravas, Petros Bouras, Despina Apostolou, Panayotis Margaris, Costas Ferris, Thesia Panayiotou and the wonderful team of Café Aman !
Many thanks to the dancers of Tradidanse who follow us every year with equal passion ! Thanks to our great chefs ! A special thank you also to Dogkas Wines and Georges Dogkas for sending us each year his excellent products !
Thank you to the personnel of the Philharmonic Hall in Liège and the Halles de Schaerbeek for their patience, their kindness and their professionalism !
Ans a million thanks finally to all the friends of 12 Hours for Greece who have invested so much in this project !
I will leave for Athens on Monday 14 December to deliver the check to Aspasia Leventis, the President of the International Foundation for Greece. I am proud to be able to deliver the result of your fantastic work. I will then go to the Evros region to deliver 3.000 liters of fuel to three schools on the border.
But we must go on ! The needs are immense ! So I already look forward to working with all of you again in 2016, to celebrate the 5th birthday (already !) of 12 Hours for Greece. Don’t hesitate in the meantime to continue talking around you about Fuel for Schools. On 1 January, we’ll start from scratch again, looking forward to new adventures ! Every one can take part : associations, schools, sport clubs, municipalities : every 1.000 € enables to heat an entire school during the heavy winters of Northern Greece !
So we continue to count on you !!
Many greetings in the meantime, and may 2016 be for all of you a wonderful and sparkling year !!
Polla filia se olous !! Sas efcharisthoume apo tin vathia tin kardia mas !!

The team of 12 Hours for Greece.
