Sounds & Lights of Unity, στο πάρκο Cinquantenaire

On Thursday, 1 October 2015, we will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the German reunification in Brussels at the Cinquantenaire – in a spectacular way!

From 19:00 to 24:00, the Triumphal Arch will be treated with a unique sound, light and video show, immersing its fascinating architecture in celebratory colours while renowned DJs from Berlin and major other European cities will spin a crossover of classical and modern electronic music. At 20:00, the President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz will give a short speech.

Berlin light artist Matthias Zeckert and the internationally renowned video artists ‘Vision Impossible’ from Amsterdam will make for an unforgettable evening! Every hour, an 8-minute video mapping will be projected onto the arch, creating a unique vision of the European story: from divided Europe, to the peaceful revolution in Eastern Europe, German reunification and the process of European integration. Moreover, with powerful images we will show how Germany and its European partners are committed to working closely together to make Europe fit for the future.

In between the video mapping projections, a unique light show will create constantly changing patterns on the beautiful Triumphal Arch and its two wings. DJs Rainer Kranich (Ibiza, 1944-2014), Chris Zippel (Berlin), Rich Ears (Amsterdam), Aiora (Athens) and ED2000 (London) will set the scene for a beautiful evening with their relaxed, ambient music especially compiled for this light show. A range of food and drinks from Germany will be available. Entrance is free.

This once-in-a-lifetime event is organised by the Permanent Representation of the Federal Republic of Germany to the European Union and supported by major German companies, the Goethe Institut, BOZAR and the City of Brussels.

Don’t miss it! Come along with your friends and enjoy a great evening together!
